My custom cretaed Eyeshadow & lipstick palette- DIY project!

Girls,If you H.A.T.E forking out your hard earned moolah buying empty makeup palettes raise you Hand!

As much I love Inglot & MAC, my wallet revolts at the thought of spending 800-4000 bucks on empty makeup palettes!! I know they look chic and stuff but seriously that kind of money for empty palettes feels like daylight robbery.
I had been collecting my share of refill pans in all assorted shapes and sizes and had my mind on ordering a few Z palettes, but they cost a pretty penny too. So I decided to get a bit crafty,I picked this very cute metallic pencil box with Harajuku doll lookalikes embossed on the cover and create my customized makeup palette.

Things you'd need for this DIY makeup Palette

1.Cute & sturdy metallic pencil box- cuter the better- let your inner wild child out & you can have Pokemon or Batman or Barbie themed palettes as well !!
2.Kwick fix glue(if you are looking at making a permanent palette) else cellophane tape will do,alternately you can use double sided tape available at most stationary stores.
3.Refill eyeshadow and lipstick pans or de-potted pans.
4.A pair of scissors, a pen and a pair of tweezers.

Here I'm, using a double decker pencil box.I waned two separate sections one each for my round Inglot lippies, other for the eyeshadow and blushes.

Step 1. Line up all your refill/ depotted pans on the palette in the way you would like them to be arranged, you can preferably arrange pans by color family- pinks together, mauves huddles up together and berries in one cozy corner.
Step 2.Write down the number/names of all your eyeshadows and lipsticks on a small piece of paper, cut out the names/numbers.
Step 3. Cut out cello tape long enough to cover the paper strips and paste the number/name using cello tape-right above where you want to fix the corresponding pan.Use a pair of tweezers to pick up the cello-taped name tags and to paste them, the result will be a lot cleaner and less messy when you use tweezers.
Step 4.Apply a drop of quick fix at the base of the eyeshadow / lipstick pan and one drop on the metal palette and place it right below the corresponding number/name you pasted earlier. Alternately if you want to re-arrange your palette at a later date then instead of quick fix, take a piece of cell tape and join the two ends together to make a circular sticky loop (sticky side out) and then apply it below the refill pan, alternately you can use double sided tape.
Step 5.Complete your palette in the same manner and voila you have your cute makeup palette ready-you can mix and match your eyeshadows, blushes, lipsticks, concealer pans, brow wax pan so on and so forth.

You can also use this technique and custom create your palettes based on makeup looks- Like a nude palette , smokey eyes palette, bridal makeup palette, summery eye makeup palette..the choice is endless.
You can also use- Magnetic sheet as a base for your palette, however as most brand's refill pans have different magnetic polarity, you could face an issue that some pans would stick & other would not.
Here's what my finished palette looks like.I have all my Inglot lipstick refill pans filed out on the top shelf and an assortment of blushes and shadows on the lower stack.
These are totally spill proof- I have played with these held up-side down and the pans do not budge.

Hope you enjoyed this easy DIY project. If you make your customized palette do tell me.I'm waiting to hear from you  :D

XOXO
