Meeting both Avik & Meghna the resident makeup geniuses was a real treat.Five mins in to our meeting & I felt I was catching up with old friends & having a laugh over makeup chit chat.
I pickled there brains for over 1.5 hours and they patiently answered all my queries and helped me understand the nuances of different Kryolan products .
It was such a pleasure to meet both these Makeup artists who are so knowledgeable and passionate about their craft and are warm & helpful as well. A big thank you to both Avik & Meghna!
LIPS
Kryolan has a wide variety of lip products,I counted roughly 150 lipsticks on display, Meghna mentioned they are expecting more lipstick shades soon !! The lipsticks come in matte, creams and pearl finishes. The variety in nudes, corals, pinks is delightful. Meghna showed me one of her pic wearing a bright orange shade and it was a very close dupe of MAC's Lady Danger,oops I forget the shade no. will note it down on my next visit. (promise!)
The lippies are priced at INR 250/- / $5
The lipsticks also come in Mini palettes containing 16 colors priced at 1100/- / $22 (approx-what's with the depreciating rupee!)
High gloss lip shines 4 ml applicator bottles priced INR 750/- / $15 These are extremely thick in texture and long lasting. The glosses are What-you-see-is-what-you-get, the shades are true to what you see in the tube.
Kryolan lipgloss Gel 5 ml bottles for INR 275 / $5.5/-
Kryolan Lip Glissers 8 gram containers priced at INR 400/ $8.These are very thick lip paints which give sheer to medium coverage.The shades are very pigmented, but can be blended out.
Meghna's Tip- Use the Kryolan Lip glisser as cheek tint, for a light sheer hint of color on your cheeks.

Kryolan's extensive range of Foundation and body makeup means you will find a shade & finish right for you and something that will work under flash lights and not cast grey shadows.
Kryolan Tinted moisturizers great for sheer coverage and 50 ml container is priced at INR 1050/- Ladies in shade MAC's NC 45 should look for TM4 in Kryolan TM. This one is on my Wishlist.
Kryolan Shimmering Event foundation comes in three shades pearlescent sheer glow, gold and bronze.It leaves a very luminous sheer finish with a faint hint of shimmer (only visible under bright light).
Kryolan's Ultrafoundation is a much lighter formulation than TV paint stick and can be used everyday. This is supposed to be good dupe for Bobby Brown 's foundation stick.

There is a wide range of makeup brushes at various price points, these are filbert brushes and the basic range starts from INR 50/ $1 and goes up to approx INR 850/ $ 17 for a stippling brush.You can find some decent beginner level brushes at very affordable price.
The lip liners, eye liners & Kajal Pencils. The eyeliners/ lipliners are priced INR 175/ $ 3.5. The kajal pencil is available in Nude, Black & Dark brown shades & is priced at INR 180/-
The Kryolan store also features a range of HD makeup ,aquacolors, makeup removers ,brush cleaners, body powders & a refreshing spray called Surgiva Skin refreshing spray which was highly recommended by Meghna.
Kryolan also has a range of corrective concealers and foundations called Dermacolor, which is specifically suited to people with scars / marks /tattoos which need a very high level of coverage to conceal.
And here is my weekend Kryolan Haul!! And let me tell you "I'll be back" I already have a long wishlist ready based on suggestions from Avik & Meghna. Will tell you guys all about my next haul.

How to get there-Get down at Lajpat Nagar metro station (if you are taking your car to Lajpat Nagar on weekend, good luck trying to find parking!) and walk toward 3Cs, you'll find ICICI Bank ATM on your left side, keep going straight ahead and you'll see Cafe coffee day outlet, take a left turn from CCD and you'll spot Kryolan City.
The store is closed on Sundays (as of now next month onwards they'll probably start keeping store open on Sundays too) The store closes by 7 pm, so make sure you make it early & have ample time to swatch & sample stuff.
